The Spina Bifida Resource Network (SBRN) is committed to educating and empowering individuals with spina bifida and other disabilities, their families, and the broader community. Throughout the year, we offer educational programs, workshops, support groups, and special events that address topics such as health and wellness, self-advocacy, independent living, financial planning, relationships, and life transitions. These programs provide opportunities for learning, connection, and personal growth while fostering a strong and supportive community.
SBRN also provides social and recreational opportunities designed to promote inclusion, friendship, and community engagement. Through virtual and in-person activities, individuals and families can connect with others who share similar experiences while enjoying accessible and meaningful experiences together.
In 2026, SBRN launched Unstoppable, a peer-based program created specifically for teens and young adults ages 13–20 with spina bifida and similar disabilities. Unstoppable provides a welcoming and supportive environment where participants can build friendships, develop self-advocacy and leadership skills, and participate in fun and engaging activities with peers who understand their experiences. Parents or guardians may register participants using the link below:

In addition to serving individuals and families, SBRN is dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding of spina bifida and living with disabilities. Through community outreach, educational presentations, health fairs, advocacy efforts, and our annual Walk for Empowerment, we work to promote inclusion, educate professionals and service providers, and ensure that individuals with spina bifida have the resources and support needed to thrive.
Empowering Independence. Building Community.
